Personal gene sequencing is a big topic in our world today. Scientists are studying and thinking about if they could study human DNA and get the information to learn about potential future diseases. However, one wonders: will this be to our advantage, or will just hurt us?

The basic science behind personal gene sequencing is getting information from your DNA and using it to tell what is going on in your body. The way that is related to biology is the way that when the DNA is being studied in the body. There is a company called 23andMe. A few people that say 23andMe is a good way, to get your DNA information. They say that it has helped their doctor figure out what was wrong with their health.

Based on a New York Times article, some companies like 23andMe want to bring personal gene sequencing to the market. But some people wonder about if they get their 23andMe result and it says, for example, they have a great chance of getting cancer, which might depress them. Also, insurance companies might want to take over the personal gene sequencing companies and use them against people. For example, if your genes show you may have a desease, an insurance company may not cover you because they know that you are not going to live for long. So, all this leaves us with a big question: do we need this? Is it for the good of the people.

Survey taken by few people.

The study of personal gene sequencing is what we might have to choose to live with in the future for our own benefit or disadvantages. It can help us by telling us our future diseases and maybe we could cure it or it can be used against us as a stress and painful information. Now we choose what want to know about ourselves.
